John is a seasoned leader in consultancy, operational excellence, asset management, business change and capital project delivery.   He has over 25 years’ experience in driving business and operational improvements within the energy and low carbon industry.

Before taking up the role of Managing Director for Synergie Environ Ltd, part of the PD&MS Group, John was Country Market Director – Energy for Ramboll UK. He was responsible for the strategic growth and development of its UK Energy business, focusing on sustainability, net-zero and energy transition.

Previously John worked for over 13 years with SSE, in a variety of roles ranging from Asset Management and Capital Investment to delivering large capital projects.  His passion for the energy transition led to a new role as Director of Asset Management for SSE Distributed Energy, a low carbon business within the SSE group.

John’s early career was spent within the nuclear industry, initially on the design and construction of decommissioning project and then within consultancy, supporting the safety and performance of the operational stations.
