The Government recently announced their Green Distilleries competition, committing to spend £10m through to 2023 to support distilleries going green.
The decarbonisation of distilleries has the potential to cut almost 0.5 MtCO2e/year by 2050 and with the objective of identifying, supporting and developing credible fuel switching technologies in order to bring about a step change in their development, the competition offers a fantastic opportunity for distilleries to become an industry leader in the demonstration of net zero solutions.
With a strong history of low carbon innovation in the drinks industry, including the construction of a flagship anaerobic digestion (AD) plant in the Highlands, Synergie Environ’s team of low carbon specialists are perfectly placed to help support your distilleries proposal.
Phase 1 of the competition is a feasibility study with a maximum of £75,000 of funding to be awarded per project.
Registration for the competition closes on the 2nd October with proposal submission due on the 12th October.
If you are interested on a proposal for your distillery, please contact Ewan McKenzie on 07851244909 or at ewan.mckenzie@synergie-environ.co.uk for an initial chat.
