Synergie Environ were the Technical Lead, working with Mace, for the Scottish Enterprise project to assess the potential for the development of a more resource efficient, low carbon, lower energy cost solution can be identified and implemented.

The project seeks to build as much as possible on existing local generation (of both heat and power) assets, proposed generation assets as well as existing and/or new transmission infrastructure such as cabling and heat networks.

The project also seeks to identify and quantify potential new heat generation sources as well as options for the use of recovered heat from industrial processes within a heat distribution network.  The ultimate aim of the project is to lower the cost of energy to businesses and hopefully homes in the Grangemouth area.

It is the aim that the output from the project will form the blueprint for the phased development of low carbon heat and power generation within the Grangemouth area over the coming years.
